Kim Snyder, RNIn recent years, acute care hospitals have undergone dramatic changes across our state.  Many community-based hospitals have merged or been acquired by large health systems, and the focus of health care has increasingly shifted to profit and the "bottom line" rather than quality care for the patients we serve.

SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania members work in 30 acute care hospitals across the state as nurses, other professional, technical, service, clerical, and maintenance employees. By standing up together, we have won contract standards that ensure input into hospital planning and decision making, a voice in staffing levels, and fair pay and benefits to ensure we our hospitals can recruit and retain the dedicated staff that ensure the highest quality patient care.
